Personally I loathe them, but I don't think I loathe what the shows inherently are. I just hate the sensationalist bullshit that goes along with it.
I know I'd get a kick out of seeing Jim as a panelist behind his Phil Spector aviator glasses and spikey arm gauntlet thingy, from the BooH gift shop of course.
Keep Cowell off the show tho, even if he's heavily involved behind the stage. I don't hate the guy, but it'd imediately paint the show wrongly and screw it before it's begun by casting that specific guy into a lead role of the show.
... wow, it'd suck if that happened again.
