I agree with your wife. The Celine Dion recording was the only version that was a big hit and I think there's a reason for that. It was very proffesional and polished, although some people might find that boring. I can't judge the Pandora's Box version fairly because I saw the awful video for it. Directed by Ken Russell, it featured a really ugly orgy that had nothing to do with the lyrics of the song. The record company released another edited version of the video in an attempt to save the project but that was even more confusing than the Ken Russell version. The two videos put me off Pandora's Box. The Meat Loaf version was a big zero. He included it on Bat 3 without Jim's blessing. It had already been a big hit for Celine. It didn't do very well in the singles chart for a good reason. It sucks. | |
