Exactly! -- That's why, because it is good in itself, it became a huge success for Celine Dion (even though her performance is inferior to Elaine Caswell's). Which is the point I wanted to discuss: If it's good, it will stand out and be successful. If it's shit with a fancy icing (like, say, take a mediocre composition and make Boyzone perform it in order to reach a supposedly broader audience) some people may get fooled and buy it, but in the long run people will notice the smell and stay away, fancy icing or not. What does Jim live on? Probably his BOOH royalties. How is that possible 32 years after the album's release? Because BOOH didn't try to be "whatever is currently useful to spread the name", it just tried to be itself. Quality. And that's why it stood out back then (and didn't have it easy with charts, big sales numbers etc.) and still stands out today (and keeps on selling). Same with TEOTH. | |
