Jim changed it drastically (for the better), so I would class it as a new production, rather than a remix.

Gary Barlow was quoted in Q magazine as saying Jim had over 100 tracks running and had to use two separate desks, at whatever studio he was using.

I'm guessing when it was decided to release this as a single, the record label presumably wanted to improve it with an 'epic' remix and contacted Jim?

I don't have my single copy to hand but I think the credits have Rinkoff co-producing and Jeff Bova keyboards & programming.
