But they were exciting and they really helped to push the album, like when they were shown on Old Grey Whistle Test. After the first clip was shown on British television, people were rushing to their local record shops to ask for BOOH, even though some record shop owners had never heard of it. But it wasn't long before BOOH was famous in the UK because it had the perfect mix of a charismatic front man, a great band and of course Jim's wonderful songs. If Pandora's Box (as you say) had the best vocals, it is a great shame that they were unable to take Britain and other countries by storm. It is especially odd because Jim was very established by the time of PB. When The Old Grey Whistle Test first showed clips from BOOH, Jim and Meat were both unknown in the UK. But the product was exciting (both musically and visually) so they showed it on telly. At the time there were only three channels in Britain, so they were guaranteed a large audience. | |
