There was a thread on this a couple of years ago, so being a lazy bugger (see the procrastination thread above!), I'll copy what I said then:
I write software. I run my own one-man-and-a-cat company (well, me plus a part-timer, and Julie does the accounts, and our 6 cats provide backup ;-)) and have been lucky enough to get involved in some interesting projects. Those have ranged from paint mixing machines in DIY stores, to getting the right colour ink on the packaging for pretty much anything you buy in the supermarket, to printing flat 3D posters, to putting telemetry from race cars onto TV screens.
All of which still stands except we've been down to 5 cats for a while.
