Don't you mean "Dance in my Pants"? That was a duet between Wendy and the Historian. I can kind of see how it works if it's supposed to be zany and weird and random like "Keep on Trucking". Jim just wrote a better song for the scene?
Remember also that Jim doesn't seem to approach these scripts with a classical musical narrative construct. They're more like Brecht plays where the songs are connected more with the themes as opposed to the narrative. This is why "Bat out of Hell" makes a lot of sense to me.
I wonder if the Historian is still in the show? Could he cope with all the spectacle?
