Has anyone here heard the story of the collapse of the Mercer Arts Center/Broadway Central Hotel on 3 August 1973? According to Alix Korey's website (Alix played Voglinda in the original production of "Rhinegold"), "Rhinegold" closed weeks before this devastating event that claimed 4 lives and would have crushed an entire audience had whatever show that had been playing at the time started too late. I do have a link somewhere that I'll include at some point but if the Arts Center collapsed in 1973 weeks before the closure of "Rhinegold", that places the date of the original production in 1973 as opposed to 1972. Very intriguing...
P.S. I believe this is the venue where Kiss got their start?
