You can't say that would have been the case. It might not have been all that genuine either. Nowadays I question Jim's ability to write anything of the high standard of the past. Can he even write good songs anymore? Meat seems to think not, and for once I agree with him. But in fairness to Jim he'd probaly admit he's past it, and just can't write anything good no more. His creative well could have simply dried up.
