Think this is a fairly recent interview with Alex Skolnick (at the link) who states TDE is 'on hold': What’s going on with the Jim Steinman collaboration in the Dream Engine? “That’s completely on hold. We did a few shows in New York [in 2006]. It was really exciting -- Bonnie Tyler was the special guest. It was Jim Steinman’s music, with these great, great singers. And it looked like this was gonna be a regular project. But last I heard, Jim is working on a musical version of ‘Bat out of Hell.’ When that’s done, we’ll see what’s gonna happen.” Would love to see TDE (or it's next incarnation)resurrected, purely to get a Steinman touring show to compliment the Bat musical (in one place), with TDE doing (most of) the songs not featured in the musical (they could have done an album and a couple of tours by now?) Would love to see Adam Lambert (unlikely) or someone like him now fronting the show (even though Rob Evan is a great singer his image seems a little dated/bland nowadays?). | |
