Well I thought I explained that the public don't really have a say. The shows are 'fixed' in that one (or several) of the contestants are 'pre-cast', and due to judges comments, TV time, a hard luck story, editing, and various phone lines 'having problems', Jim would get the person he wanted to win. In other words they have the 'winner' before the TV show starts, and then work back to create the casting show. The casting element is just there to justify the exisitance of a TV show which is all about promo, and the public phone voting is all about making money. If you don't believe any of that, then I'll say no more. > If you had held a casting show to cast DOTV and it was > between Mikey Boy, Steve Barton, and John Travolta Steve > Barton would have come in third. Well Crawford was 'stunt casting' as you say (and as it turned out, unsuitable), but I keep suggesting that I doubt Jim will make the same mistake again? > Creating Art should not be about promotion and the > casting is part of the creative process. Yes, but once the art has been created you have to promote it, and the creative process of casting the show is NOT in my mind effected by a TV promo, sorry, casting show. | |
