| If I remember the facts correctly, he was originally charged with the "rape" but in the plea bargain it was reduced to sexual assault; which is why all the countries he traveled to did not extradite him back to the US. Had he been convicted of the rape then they would have sent him back. It appears that there was a possibility of misconduct on the part of the judge. I remember reading somewhere that Polanski was going to come back voluntary but the new judge appointed wanted it televised. IMO; he should come back and "face the music" and get this over with; this has been haunting him long enough. I also believe the mother of the victim should be charged with child endangerment. The victim will probably have to go to court but does not have to testify and because of the amount of time that passed memories will be questionable.
