For more than thirty years I have found the Steinman classics to be more thrilling than any other rock pieces. I put him in the same category as Mozart. Except that he also has the wit of an Oscar Wilde. I am also someone who spends a lot of time talking to someone who spends a lot of time talking to Jim (my mother and I are very close - my father often makes negative remarks about the situation). So I do hear a lot about the show (although I have no desire to listen to anything "private" or "intimate" about Jim - as Smeg often says). Every now and then I say something that I have learned on the board and this gets me into trouble. But I actually do this on rare occassions. Smeg makes it sound like I do it all the time. Most of the trouble comes from The Pudding Gang. They hunt me like a pack of dogs. Now I know how poor old pidunk felt. It is especially unfair because I was not going to say anything about my mother (I honestly want to be seen as a diehard Jim fan and nothing else - it is very strange for me that my mother ended up working with my hero). However, I was outed by the same pidunk I now feel sorry for, after she published private emails I had sent her and Dave found them via Google alert. > Your posts are so antagonistic it's untrue!!! Pudding is falsely accusing me of spreading bullshit about Jim and you think my posts are antagonistic? Smeg started this off and JD sort of added to it. I had to defend myself. Even when JD says that people would be dead wrong if they think that I am a fine source of information, there is some kind of implication there. Although I don't want to argue with JD (because she runs my favourite website) and I don't want to fight with Smeg(because he is a fellow diehard Steinman fan). > to come on here and wind people up is a > bit rum in my book. Smeg was trying to wind me up and I replied. Read the thread he started. Please also read the post by Scaramouche in this thread. He is a very sensible person. | |
