Both.
That's not being awkward but there is no reason why both can't be right, and I'm not just talking about slipping God in to explain the gaps of evolutionary theory. If this subject interests you check out the link below for a series of papers and information on reasearch into creationism, evolutionism, and how they complement each other.

Incidentally for a supposedly academically intelligent man, Dawkins is a pretty poor writer and debator. I've tried to read two or three of his books and never got all the way through. They are just too filled with presumptions and instances of conflicting his own arguments for me to lend any credence to his theories. I also find it very unprofessional how he regards lack of concrete evidence for God as proof of his non-existance; but where there is a lack of evidence for his own theories this is just because it is supposedly so obvious it must be right, or he just ignores it.
