| OK, technically in both the original and Jim's version Peter entices Wendy to run away with him... as a father of two young daughters I looked at it as stealing her away... As for Hook being Wendy's father... it is implied in J.M. Barries play... The same actor always portrays her father and Hook on stage, and in Disney's movie the same actor does both voices. It is an allegory for the young boy who takes the daughter away from her father. Thus, again, my seeing it as stealing away. > I think I must re-read Peter Pan, because I can't remember > Peter stealing Wendy, nor Wendy's Dad being Hook. > > > A boy who can't grow up (either from Childhood or > > Teenagehood) Peter (the name has been changed from Baal) > > steals Wendy away from her parents house and takes her to > > live with the Lost Boys, a group of youths who've fled > > society to set up their own lord of the flies existence > > Tink- Peter's friend, hates Wendy for stealing away > > Peter's attentions and betrays his friend Peter by turning > > over Wendy's location to Hook (Wendy's father)-- so that > > he can take her back.
