I'm Just a Singer In A Rock & Roll Band

I don't like the Moody Blues or this song, but hearing it on the radio today I noticed that the bridge ("So if you want this world of you to turn") sounds a LOT like a Steinman bridge, very "So open up your arms & then you get down on your knees" sort of rhythm.

The song came out in 1973, round about the time Jim was writing most of his tunes we enjoy to this day, so I wonder if there's some influence there?
