Involved how? In the marketing? Sure. Taking part in the show? Pull the other one, it's got bells on. But as Smeg says it isn't a Meat show; it won't have Meat in it in any shape or form, and that needs to be obvious to those buying tickets.
DotV was a different scenario altogether. DotV failed because it forgot to be "TdV" and ended up being "Some mothers do 'ave 'em". In my opinion it's a real shame that this Polanski thing didn't happen a decade ago, because if so he'd have been a free man in the USA, he'd have been in charge of DotV and he sure as hell wouldn't have let Crawford run amok.
Jim and the other creatives need to make sure the new show doesn't end up being a jukebox, but they also need to make sure it doesn't ignore the mass market and produce an excellent show that no-one (aside from us lot) sees.
