We're in total agreement on that. After all, when Jim decided to make "Bat II" he didn't look for another singer. But based on ALW's experiences with his lyricists, the other candidates I mentioned would be good alternates on the project. Btw. bless Charles Hart. He was in his early 20s when Lloyd Webber discovered him at the Vivien Ellis Theatre Awards where he'd submitted a musical called "Moll Flanders". It came third prize but Lloyd Webber expressed interest in working with him on the scale of a lyricist for "Phantom". No one could have possibly known the staying power the show would have and he must be, quite rightfully, basking in his success right now. I don't mind his lyrics and I'd have loved to see something more from him, although apparently he worked on a musical of "The Vampyr" and "She Stoops To Conquer" | |
