I don't see it fit into Neverland at all, to me it is so much outside the rest of the story as far as I can create one from the songs that usually make up part of it.
And what special effects would that be ?
A couple having sex in a car ? If the audience wants sex they can go to
special stores that have more than enough for that :-D
Or maybe a baseball game played on stage ? BORING ! (MHO).
And 'Paradise' is done to death !
To me PBTDL is a true concert number and not something to fit
into a musical.
