You make a good point about Larry Parnes. He was sort of the Simon Cowell of those days. I believe The Beatles auditioned for him but he rejected them because they weren't like Cliff Richard. He was in the business of manufacturing pop stars who were all very similar to each other. But, as you say, "The Beatles arrived and washed all the manufactured dross away." The same could happen to the Simon Cowell Machine. Nobody in the entertainment industry is invincible. | |
