Declaring war on a species that has the technology to travel light years from their home planet to ours might not be the brightest move.

The estimate of how many planets there are in the universe has more zeroes on the end than I've had "number two's" this month. The chances of at least some of them having life on them are exceedingly high (even Mars probably does). The chances of intelligent life on some of those is much lower but has to be pretty high anyway. The problem comes when you look at how likely is is that this life would have the means to travel tens or hundreds or thousands of light years to get to us. We don't even know how that would be possible in theory let alone know how to do it in practice. Next, even if it was possible and practical for them to visit us, they'd probably have plenty of other summer destinations than us within the same distance of their planet.

I think the chance of their being intelligent life elsewhere in the universe is nigh on 100%. I think the chances of them having visited us as nigh on zero.
