Do they actually give valium to hyperactive kids? At UK boarding school we only got the cane if we were hyperactive. Two strokes just for smoking a cig. Valium would have been a much better punishment for smoking. Although that was the seventies and the cane is now illegal in the UK, so maybe they are dishing out the pills to stop those students who insist on being rebellious.
