Plus the CD isn't out yet, who's going to recall > that tweet in April when the disc comes out? Exactly. So why do it? As JD pointed out, he could have asked someone privately. The video had the potential to cause Jim distress. According to Scaramouche, he is now saying that anyone who didn't like it can "F Off". One reason for publicly stating that Jim is going to have open heart surgery and asking anyone out there with knowledge of Jim's health to send him information must surely be an attempt to create a sensation which would help to continue the association between himself and Jim. Perhaps he wanted to be the one to tell the world about Jim's private business. The video was removed but I doubt it was Meat who wanted it removed or he wouldn't have the attitude that Scaramouche describes. Meat obviously didn't think there was anything wrong with doing something that could well cause Jim a great deal of discomfort. It's only a guess but I would think his manager advised him to take it down because it made him look silly and there was nothing to be gained from it, unless he was setting out to upset Jim because Jim had stopped responding to his emails (as he said in the video). Perhaps it wasn't a publicity stunt. Perhaps he was trying to attract Jim's attention in a very strange and public way. Whatever the case, Meat's manager is very wise and powerful and he must surely have seen that the video made Meat look stupid and that Meat had nothing to gain (apart from upsetting Jim) by posting it. Meat had nothing to gain for the reasons you state. If it was a publicity stunt, there is no way that a man like Irving Azoff would approve of it. Again, for the reasons you state. As publicity it makes no sense. But Meat has often done things that make no sense. That's why he really does need strong management. It's strong management which keeps him on our telly screens year after year. If he handled his own publicity, then I doubt he would be the survivor he appears to be (although the wonderful Jim songs he recorded are his biggest selling point). The only other theory for posting the video that I can think of is that he wanted to tell people that there are no Jim songs on his new album because Jim is not well. Which would be very selfish of him. I hope that's not the case. He doesn't tell anyone (I don't think) that he could record WPOMBHTM but that Jim doesn't want him to. The lack of Jim songs on Meat albums has nothing to do with Jim's health. It is to do with Meat's artisitc/singing problems and Jim's frustration with Meat's attitude. Jim himself has talked about his problems with Meat's blatant disrespect when he was posting on this board as Wagner. And yet, as Meat says in the video, Jim was trying to help him understand opera in preperation for the show (via email). Jim is still kind to Meat despite all the crap he has put up with and Meat turns around and posts that video. | |
