Additionally, although Kenny Ortega is credited as director, he was there primarily to have someone who knew how to frame the shots and work with the crew. Billy came up with the "concept" for the video and reportedly called the shots on the camera angles used and how they were edited. I recall much of this from 1984 when MTV aired the video.
