| Man. I had Raw on and was in the kitchen doing dishes; I heard the PBTDL intro music and popped; "No way! Meat's on Raw?????" So I go into the living room to watch the segment, and it started okay, except that Meat was holding the CD UPSIDE DOWN the whole time he's showing it to Orton and another 5 - 6 million people. Then Meat starts singing, live, while the album cut plays in the arena. He should have either just sang live, or just fucking lip synched. Instead, he's trying to sing live, totally out of time (and tune) with the album vocals. I felt embarassed for him, truthfully. I guess one could argue that the plan was he would get booed by the crowd and get assaulted by Orton (because that's what happens when a singer walks on to a wrestling show and interrupts arguably the top bad-ass crowd favorite) so he played it that way and was deliberately a little on the obnoxious side but, I don't really buy it myself. Still and all, though, with a record dropping today in the U.S., and little to no hope of radio airplay, popping up on a show with several million viewers is a smart move just to raise awareness that he even has a new album out. > This ... | |
