Many people say the German sets are wonderful. I wonder how much influence Polanski had over just the sets. He always makes sure that every shot in his films looks fantastic. He must surely have brought his eye for visual composition to "Tanz".

Would you agree with Macahan, who said: "I don't think the cast I saw was quite as good as the German ones, but then again many of the German actors have played it a lot more."

I think this is what Steve Rinkoff and other members of Jim's team were basically saying. No goosebumps. Nobody said it was awful. Just a lack of goosebumps. They didn't use that word but you have come up with the exact word needed to describe what they were feeling. However, even though it might be disappointing for members of a creative team, it sounds to me like the audience still has a really good time. As long as they feel that they've got their money's worth. Perhaps the reason why the producers are reluctant to allow Richard's version to go up in London is because there is an obvious gamble every time they try to take the show out of the German/Austrian market. I don't know. I am only guessing. Do you think that "BOOH" would do well in Germany and Austria? It seems like such a cool market for Jim's songs. I am still wondering if there could be German dialogue mixed with English lyrics.

That's the main thing.

Macahan said: "I do remember the original verison as being more powerful musically, it didn't have the new red boots scene, which is SO great. I can't decide."
