First in a response to Andrew G, thanks very much for all your comments and taking the time to show me some cool audio effects, I was looking for something along those lines but unfortunately due to time restraints and dead lines I had to finish it real quickly, but your example of reverbing audio will come in very handy as a reference for my animation I’m writing. And to Steven Stuart, thanks very much for your kind words also. The actor playing Zarcovas isn’t me (I do have a voice over line later in the film though) The actor is a guy called Alex Aldred, my best friend since I was about 11, he’s training to be an actor at the same college as me so he jumped at the opportunities at getting some practice working in front of a camera. I was really blessed with my cast, all of them great. I didn’t edit the film(at least not the version on my YouTube) it was edited by a friend of mine called Simon Burdall, who’s a college filmmaker like myself (I starred in one of his films alongside Alex, I’ll post it if you guys want to see it, bit different to my style though) As far as favourite directors go, George Romero is pretty high up for me, and more recently Orson Welles, I watched citizen Kane recently wanting to know if it lived up to is status as “Best film of all time” and its pretty close to be honest. unfortunately at college, as I live in Britain my tutors’ tend to encourage more gritty dramas such as This Is England, rather then the supernatural stuff I like writing, but I cant help but feel reminded of Jim’s tales of child hood and how he was so unconventional with his work, which does build my confidence as a writer I must say. Its quite funny you mention HInchcock, as my next project, if all goes to plan, will feature “Live” scenes at the theatre, much like he used to do with his films. Thanks again to both of you for your feedback, it really does help.
