Love the intro (great melody & dark atmosphere), love the outro, but the middle 'Break It' section is not my fave (not keen on the Wuthering Heights or Bat 3 versions).
Also really like the percussion 'hits' in the intro and don't know if Meat's band did this or if it exists on a Steinman demo?
I think the intro melody is too good to waste and should be developed for another song. I also think the title should be changed to '(It Hurts) Only When I Breathe'; a song of darkness and/or teenage angst?
I would suggest Jim is using the intro for something else, hence the non-appearance on Bat 3?
