Would you say that many people have tried to imitate Romero? I read an article that said he is one of the most imitated directors ever.

Also, did you like the original "Texas Chainsaw Massacre"? Apparently its one of Jim's favourite films.

His favourite directors are Hitchcock and Kubrick (although he didn't like Kubrick's last film "Eyes Wide Shut", which I thought was very weird but not too bad - it was still a Kubrick - not fantastic like "2001" but still).

I have to agree with his choice of directors. Especially Kubrick. Theres no point in listing my favourite Kubrick films. There are so many of them, despite the relatively long time between films coming out.

People said that Kubrick was a recluse. He moved to the UK from America and refused to go back. The Vietnam jungle in "Full Metal Jacket" is actually a studio lot in England. "The Shining" was set in Colorado but filmed here. He sent a crew to America to film the outside scenes but he stayed in England. He didn't go to many show biz events here and that gave him the recluse reputation but actually he was good friends with all the villagers in the small Hertfroshire town that he lived in, so he wasn't really a recluse.
