| Nice breakdown of the song, totally agree with you. There's a nice 'ah fuck it!' streak that runs through the Break It part too as a response to the 'endless nights', 'scars on scars', etc., of Only When I Feel. It'd be good to try and weave back into that once the energy of Break It has been spent though, try and tie it all up...? Just an idea - thesis, antithesis, synthesis. > To me, the first bit of the song is the characters fear of > madness, and then the break it part is when the actual > fear and pain take over and he goes on some huge rant, not > sure if that's what Jim was going for but if it was just > parts of two songs slapped together it still forms a > pretty epic narrative. > > Now I'm no Meat... > > > > But I'm currently (re)working on a version of OWIF for the > > MLUKFC's possible Meat tribute project, which is still to > > pick up steam. > > > > I started on it waaay back in 2005 but one thing or > > another interrupted me and blah, blah, blah, here we are > > in 2010 and the enthusiasm has finally returned for me to > > complete it. > > > > I agree that it's not one of Jim's best as it stands, the > > 'segue' into Break It seems a bit kitbashy to me ... from > > my armchair of millions of records sold and whatnot ... > > but expanded into its own song it could be interesting. > > > > ;) > > > > > at least for me it anyway, Wario loaf has uploaded a high > > > qulity of Meat singing Only When I feel.
