| I was watching an episode of "Video Killed The Radio Star" and this time it profiled the video director Russell Mulcahy, who directed the "TEOTH" video, as you all probably know. He said that he was permanently offended when Bonnie arrived on the set before she was due and Bonnie saw the almost naked young men having water thrown over them and she got upset and asked Russell if he was a "prevert". They cut to Bonnie being interviewed and she said that she told Russell: "I'm not having any of this!" Russell said that some of his videos are homo erotic but that he is not a pervert. He said that he was just trying to come up with interesting images for the video. He said that Bonnie called him a year later to ask if he would direct another video (because the TEOTH video was so successful). Russell claims that he told Bonnie to "fuck off" and they never worked together again. They didn't mention Jim but surely he was on the set somewhere. I don't know what the story in the TEOTH video is exactly (perhaps someone could let me know) but I think it was fun and without a doubt helped to sell the song. It was the right video for that era. | |
