(although it's hampered by Crawford!) Yes, it HAS been a successful stage musical. The RSC produced a very successful revival in the 1980s. It has toured all over the world. I don't know why it wasn't produced on Broadway, but if you want to make that argument, then you might as well say "Tanz" isn't a success, because it wasn't ever really represented on Broadway. Ever since the amateur/stock rights have been made available, there have been hundreds, thousands of productions worldwide. I would consider that to be a successful thing. Just out of curiosity, what were your thoughts on the Phantom sequel? | |
