The July 1997 draft is terrible. In all honesty, the best English translation I've seen is Judi's, which draws upon the better stuff Steinman did and fills it in with her own minor contributions based on the original translations. I think they should commission hers if Jim isn't willing to do a full new one. Because the website DOES say Music & Lyrics by Jim Steinman, which probably implies that a new English translation will be done by him.

Also, this makes me think. If this opens in the UK, it will open alongside "Bat Out Of Hell: The Musical" and all they'd need to do is bring "Whistle" back to pull a TRIPLE THREAT. You know what I'm talking about? Lloyd Webber did it many times, Tim Rice did it too. Frank Wildhorn was the last American composer to do it with "Jekyll & Hyde", "The Scarlet Pimpernel" and "The Civil War"
