THANX.
I just noticed that I forgot to answer one of your questions.
Yes, the impersonator was the same guy who would have played the lead role in the musical, the same musical Adam and I are now working on. And he was connected with the role, on and off, for a very long time, right up until last month when I finally got sick of being messed around.

My God, when I saw him sing at the Railway for the first time, it was like Jim at the auditions for "More than you deserve" when Meat Loaf walked in. And I turned to Adam's sister and I said, "He's incredible! He's a star!"
And later on, I got his contact through the website because I didn't want to startle him in the flesh and I wrote him a formal letter, showed him the script and he was blown away, told me that it could go 1,000 miles an hour! That he felt like he was going to be part of something Big!

We went down to watch Adam's group play shortly after we had a massive conversation on the phone and it was an amazing night. Nik got up and started reciting lines from the musical, and all went to darkness around him. It was Terrifying Brilliant! It was like watching Ralph Fiennes in one of his roles. Just Brilliant!
Then he did the Meat Loaf tribute thing and got the Best Judges Award. He attempted to set up a Meat Loaf tribute show (I know another Meat tribute, Dave, in Western Australia. His partner is JAYCEE who posts here on the Rockman. Dave's MAGNIFICENT BTW!)
But the tribute show didn't work out and he sort of faded into obscurity after that, though we were still doing the show and he was going to do an album.

For some reason, it became really difficult to contact him, so I had no choice but to give up after a while and it was quite an upsetting experience. I called him one day and as soon as he heard my voice, the phone went dead.
I spoke to a friend of his who said he was strange like that, one minute you're a good friend and the next minute you are completely shut out.

Recently, we spoke again and he said "Yeah, I'd love to play the role, but let's meet after I've finished some recording." And after he'd done that, he never spoke to me, ignored my messages and so on, so I said, "F this! I haven't got time!" And I'm not doing anyone any favours.

If it ever happens, it's Open Auditions all round.
