That's true. My headmaster was a Catholic priest and he loved rugby. He played for England when he was at university. I sometimes wondered if Jesus would have approved of such a tough sport. Father Garvey devoted his life to Jesus but he wanted his boys to run around tackling each other and getting very muddy indeed.
