I remember reading something that they apparently already had the LATW release in mind, and wanted some new gems for the CD.
There's also an interview around the time of WTTN where he talks about LATW as his next project. It's quite interesting. Apparently the original concept was to release it as a 4 CD box. He said live recordings are something truly for the fans. Other people wouldnt buy them anyway, so he could put stuff on he and the fans really would want, and dont give a fuck about mainstream.
