| I like Bat II's cover, but I prefer Bat I and, actually, Dead Ringer's cover over Bat II. I remember having this discussion many years ago, probably on the old Jim mailing list, and I believe my argument was that, for me, the Bat I cover looks much more primal / visceral, like it was painted on the wall of a cave by a neanderthal with a giant erection. The Dead Ringer cover shares some of this feeling for me. Whereas, I find the Bat II cover looks much more clean and clinical, like it was produced using hi-tech equipment in a state-of-the-art clean room, after an extensive amount of market research had been done on the subject. Plus, the bike-rider looks way too much like the "Lobo" character from DC comics. > > > > > By Michael Whelan > > > > Oh my goodness. Michael Whelan is a genius.
