'My favourite part of Wuthering Heights is...' & other classic Steinman tales.

I watched 'Opening the Box' today on the Erection DVD, which is frikin brilliant, but I've got to call Jim up on something here. While talking about the genesis for IACBTMN, he says he wrote it 'under the influence of Wuthering Heights' and, in particular, his favourite section, which is apparently always cut from the films, where Heathcliffe digs up Cathy's body and 'goes dancing on the beach in the moonlight with it'. Er... what?! The Wuthering Heights I know, and begrudgingly love, is set in Yorkshire, hundreds of miles from any beach. I'm not sure which version Jim has been reading...

Maybe the opera based on Joyce's 'Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man', that Jim lied about in College, has Dublin crossed out and 'Southern California' it it's place LOL.

On a side not, I absolutely adore the mythology that surrounds Pandora's Box: Deliria Wilde being thrown out of a nunnery for doing something unspeakable, Elaine passing out several times after hitting the hight note in All Coming Back, the video for this record being seized at customs for its resemblance to a snuff video and Jim attempting to create a magnificent and heroic chord by recording the angelic sound of a hundred motorcycles revving their engines.
