But it was brought up in the recent thread. "IT JUST WON'T QUIT". I heard the Meat Loaf version first which I think is stronger than Pandora's Box. It seems more cohesive and "complete", for some reason. (I think this is also another one Meat claims was written for BAT II all along). Musically, as some of you know, it started out as "Melville's Theme" in "The Confidence Man". This made me think that perhaps the whole melody came from a cut song written for the character of Melville. So, I asked Ray (as you do) LOL. No, there was never a full song written for Melville although Ray *does* have a lyric which Jim never composed. I think this song, lyrically, is very personal to me like the whole Pandora's Box album. It's also one of those songs that, IMO, could benefit from a new version with some big-name singer. It's never been allowed to shine, it's just sort of thrown in there with the "Bat" saga and an album that sunk ignominiously. Perhaps it will make it to the stage-show? For some reason, I can imagine a NEW duet version being made | |
