I agree with pretty much everything you just wrote, except this. Even at half-mast I think Meat's singing far outshines that of Jim's.
I suspected that was the interview being discussed and the first thing that popped into my mind when I saw it was 'He's on something.' I'm not saying he was, but that was my first thought.
