Kasim is in charge of the band and he made it clear he wanted Mark Alexander before Jim brought it up on Facebook. I doubt that Jim would have posted that before talking things over with Kasim and the creative team. I agree with you. The same is true of Jim's Facebook exchanges with Stuart Beattie (about doing a BOOH movie using an old story by Stuart).
