| As promised ages ago, a new 'Batman' song before the end of the year...'How Much More In Love Could Anybody Be?' Please note this is a very rough (and rushed) 'first draft' demo and you will probably hear that some of the vocals are not (quite) hitting the spot. However, I thought I'd post it as a work in progress. Merry Christmas Gothamites and hope you enjoy. As per usual, a (brief) scene description... A short (piano/vocal only) version of this song is first sung early in Act 1. In the previous scene, Joker carries out a vicious robbery at a Halloween charity ball and in the resulting hullabaloo, Bruce Wayne saves Selina Kyle's life. Their eyes meet and a spark ignites, before she flees into the night. Cut to the next scene...Bruce returns to Wayne Manor as a storm starts (hence effects) and is greeted by Alfred (dialogue here). He retires alone to his library (stage left) and in front of a roaring fire, staring out at the lightning storm, he sings the first verse only, 'nobodies ever made me feel like this...' As the verse ends, stage left is dimmed and stage right is slowly lit to reveal Selina Kyle with umbrella, under a street lamp somewhere in Gotham. She sings verse 3 only, 'there was a time when I felt nothing at all...' As her verse ends, both stage left and right are lit and they duet one chorus only. They stare off in different directions and do not look at each other (they are in different locations). Stage then goes dark. Towards the end of act 4 (my version has specific acts 1 & 2, interval, then acts 3 & 4), a longer version of the song is reprised by Batman & Catwoman (verses 1 & 3 are swapped). High above Gotham on a gargoyled rooftop, they have now discovered each others true identities and knowing a final battle with Joker, and possible death for both of them, is imminent, they sing from the heart...During the solo they embrace and slowly 'spiral down' in each others arms to street level. As the song ends, a long lingering kiss is bathed in glorious moonlight, before stage is engulfed in a dark evil rouge. Shrieks and howls then echo from all directions, 'demons' emerge from 'shadows', and a final confrontation slowly starts to revv....
