| I was interested to read Ryan's comments about Michael Crawford in the Dance Of The Vampires thread below. Basically he was saying that Crawford was afraid of making Krolock anything like the Phantom character he had created and the resulting attempt at comedy may have contributed to the downfall of the show. I can see what Ryan means when I watch one of the YouTube clips of Crawford in Dance Of The Vampires (please see link below). I am wondering if the Wizard in Wizard Of Oz will be a much better role for Crawford than Krolock was. Perhaps the Wizard character lends itself to the kind of humour that Crawford wanted to inject into the Krolock character. Also, I wonder if die hard Wizard Of Oz fans will be complaining about the new ALW/ Time Rice songs. I think that some new songs have to be introduced if the Wizard character is going to be expanded. Surely Crawford would refuse the role if there were no songs for him to sing. ALW must be hoping that renewing his past relationships with Rice and Crawford will lead to something which is far more successful than Love Never Dies. | |
