Even as an owner of Faster Than the Speed of Night, I used to find the review amusing. I used the find the book pretty entertaining, but I didn't age well.

In the intro, the authors admit that taste in rock music is subjective, and that they may attack some sacred cows. (They then demonstrate this by trashing The Doors.) They also state that they tend to concentrate on bad songs by good artists, with an occasional bad artist thrown in. Just for comparison, here's the rest of the list

They also have a list of Worst Albums, which includes U2 (The Unforgettable Fire), ELP (Tarkus), Bon Jovi (Slippery When Wet), The Moody Blues (Days Of Future Passed), Queen (Live Killers and Queen II) and Jethro Tull (Aqualung).

They finish with their 4 worst artists: Paul McCartney (squandered his talent on saccharine love songs), Duran Duran, Phil Collins, and at #1, Billy Joel (basically, in Billy's early career, he'd often call himself a rocker. The author's say 'no, he isn't')
