It would be safe to assume the phrase "like a bat out of hell" existed way before the song. I don't know and can't prove or disprove that wiki quote about the Greek origins being true or false, but Jim has a habit of using old-time phrases for songs. "Bat Out of Hell", "For Crying Out Loud", "You Took The Words Right Out of My Mouth", "Life Is A Lemon", "Left In The Dark", etc.

I once even challenged some new songs be written titled "Eye For An Eye" and "Everything But The Kitchen Sink" just to see what members on this board would come up with. It was very entertaining.

As for "The Red Album"...that I can honestly say is the first and only time I have even heard that title ever used.
