I mostly lurk here these days, and when reading through the discussion of pop music/art I realized that no one had brought up this album here, which is a bit of a shame since I think many would appreciate it.
I'd say that it's one of the best produced top 40 albums in years; basically they took the entire throwback-kitchen sink and smashed it onto the album. Heavy percussion, doo-wop choirs, Be My Baby-drums, psychedelic-infused organs, Wall of Sound. Lykke doesn't have the strongest voice, but she never goes out of her technical depth either. Check out Sadness Is A Blessing if nothing else.
