Such a bizarre news item. Cool, but.... bizarre. I mean, with all the recent talk of some more or less blogosphere-created Jim / Gaga connection, and thoughts of what a Jim/Gaga team-up might be like, NOW Madonna, the original Gaga, crawls out from under a heaping pile of impending irrelevance and REACHES OUT TO JIM for songwriting help, as though she were some neophyte wanna-be desperate to get out of her cocktail-waitressing gig via the generous hand of a Legendary Songwriter who hasn't unleashed a legendary song on the general public since the Lewinski Scandal? NOW??? I mean, where was her admiration for Jim in the 80s, say, at the height of her fame? After all of her hits, all of her years at the top, NOW she turns to Jim Freakin' Steinman? I mean, in a perfect world, Madge might have done "Safe Sex" in a decade when the term still had resonance and a touch of novelty.

Again, I think its cool, I just don't think it makes any sense. Unless she's trying to head Gaga off at the pass.
