Look at the printed lyrics of most current popular songs, next to those written by Jim. Jim really writes, others just put down words. That has to put a strain on Meat's voice and I suspect some of those extended parts give him a breather. I would prefer that he do shorter versions of all the longer songs live to conserve his voice. I was listening to some older cd's the other day and they were stretching songs to make them 3 minutes (I'm looking at you Bob Seger)Meat and Jim have never had to strain to get a song long enough to make a single, but live I think it is time at Meat's age to do the songs a bit shorter.
