| I never got to volunteer. But the gig was excellent. It was really big! It was more of an experience than watching a show. Was in PEI for three days and wasn't sure where we ere sleeping. Got to the show and I was under Paul up front. Everyone looked really tired, but mostly Paul. Meat just had that intensity. Many said it online and people I chatted with who had seen him before. The band really interpreted the music into various directions. Rock and Roll dreams was the best I heard it. And even though there was no Song of Madness, the thrill of just being there I can't convey. I never tried to remember the set list, but Bat Out Of Hell was early in the set. But it worked! My dad said he would tack it on near the end but the move succeeded. The park was full with I think it was 6000 people and there were hundreds all around the gate. Even some of the new songs were sang along too. Even the lights weren't entirely like you see in recent DvD. When the crowd started chanting 'Meat Loaf' my friend woke me up. Said even saw Meat in a black sleeved shirt chewing gum from off the stage. I don't know if I believe it but by the time Paul was inciting some riffs before us. Miceli's kit already had my heart. Not much of a first impression with the bassist although he shined some on stage. Can't even recall his name. But Mr. Justin Avery, all I was thinking is I can't see him from where I'm standing but the Steinman from his fingers was courteous to Jim himself and represented his own self. It was a cool summer night and Hang Cool back home to New Brunswick. Hitch hike. And even slept at one man's place who was close to mine and my friend's age. I'm twenty-four. And I would see another Meat Loaf gig again. And Meat did mention Jimmy at least once. I could probably recall a lot that happen that night but what was important to me is I was standing there. Seizing every ounce and second! It was adventure and I thought of Jimmy once even my self. | |
