| OK, it's a plan :-). I'll check for flights today. As it happens, I was in Finland a few weeks ago (working on the WRC rally), and travelled back to the airport, via Tampere, by train. I have some hints. The pendolina trains are quicker but I found the regular IC double-decker train more spacious and comfortable. Both have free wifi. Unlike the UK, trains do actually leave and arrive on time. One thing the article didn't mention is that some trains from Helsinki airport also stop at a station about 5km from the airport, so it's possible to save some time but using that station rather than Helsinki Central.
